More authors and events added to festival lineup

Planning continues for the 2014 Iowa City Book Festival, to be held Oct. 2-5 in and around downtown Iowa City.

In addition to previously announced authors like James Ellroy, Jane Smiley, Terrence Holt, Mary Szybist and others, the lineup now includes:

–Iowa City native Sean Strub, who will talk about his new memoir, Body Counts: A Memoir of Politics, Sex, AIDS and Survival

–Ayana Mathis, the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop graduate whose debut novel, The Twelve Tribes of Hattie, was an Oprah Book Club pick. Mathis will appear in conversation with Marilynne Robinson on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Englert Theatre.

–Levi Stahl, who edited a new collection of the late Donald E. Westlake’s non-fiction, Getaway Car, for the University of Chicago Press.

–Marcus Burke, a UI Writers’ Workshop graduate whose debut novel is Team Seven.
